CMP History

Our History

California Metal Processing Company, located in Los Angeles, was established in 1952 by Howard Merrill Family. Merrill started CMP as a small polishing company, predominantly polishing chrome lighters. In 1972 Bob Conn was brought in as a partner. The company was later sold to Terry Andersen in 1988. Cal Metal has slowly evolved throughout the years from its modest beginnings as a small polishing company to now providing a diverse range of services from plating, painting and non-destructive testing to the Aerospace, Defense and Automotive Industries.
